The beach is an El Dorado for kite enthusiasts. Thousands of them flock to the beach, particulary during the first weekend on september, when on of the biggest kite festivals of Europe is held on Rømø.
Here is also a popular place for horseriding. From may to october you can rent a horse or a pony on the Lakolk beach.

The beach in Fanø stretches 15 km along the westcoast of the island. It is without doubt one of the best and safest bathing beaches in Northern Europe. Also, it is the scene of many activities such as kite flying, windsurfing, ball games, horseback riding, bicycling, bathing, hiking and, of course, collecting amber.
It is allowed to drive cars on the beach. The speed limit is 30 kph.
Always pay attention to the tide when at the beach. Get a table of the tides at the Fanø Tourist Information.

The Tryg Foundation and the Danish Swimming Union man a lifesaving tower on Vejers and Henne beaches from 11.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. every day during the period 28 June – 21 August.
